Natalie Portman Oscars 2011

Natalie Portman wins Oscar for Best Actress in Black Swan

A pregnant Natalie Portman won an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role in her new film, Black Swan. In that role she plays a mentally plagued ballet dancer.

The Oscar was announced at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theatre, Los Angeles on February 27, 2011. The winner was announced by fellow actor Jeff Bridges.

Natalie received a well deserved standing ovation when she and her yet-to-be-born baby came up on stage for her tearful acceptance speech.

She was clearly overcome with emotion and excitement during her acceptance speech. Natalie Portman was so gracious with her appreciation of those who helped her in the movie. Thanking all the usual people from the movie, and family and friends, including “people on films that noone ever talks about”. Then she made reference to some individuals that helped her with makeup, costumes, and camera operators.

Natalie was photographed on the red carpet before the ceremony. Clearly her baby bump is visible in her stunning purple dress as she is already 6 months pregnant. The Black Swan leading lady Natalie Portman was nominated for Best Actress for her superb performance in Black Swan. And she certainly looked the part at the Oscars.

Simply well cut, styled off-the-shoulder Rodarte gown, set off with matching tassels on her earnings. I rate Natalie Portman’s Oscar fashion sense at 5 stars. Do you agree? Please rate her pic at the top of this article.
